APPOINTMENTS

Unfortunately and regrettably, due to dangerous climate in which we live, these are not readily available as they used to be. If you have unusual circumstances that may make this necessary please discuss this with your own doctor so that arrangements can be made.

Please note that there are 24 hour emergency units in the following local hospitals, Constantiaberg, Claremont, Vincent Palotti, Gatesville and Rondebosch Medical Centre.

CHRONIC MEDICATION

Please make an appointment to see your doctor and not a telephonic request for these as your condition needing the medication requires regular follow-up by means of examination. Because of considerable drain on our resources, faxes may be charged for.

Our fees are reviewed annually and with periodic government legislation changes may need to be altered on other occasions during the year. An updated and more detailed fees information sheets available at the reception. Our medical aid rates are within the scale of benefits and we offer a pensioners discount.

HOUSE CALLS

We prefer patients to come through to the rooms as the facilities are much better for appropriate examination. However, when a patient is too ill or incapacitated for this, please phone and arrange with your own doctor as early as possible so that the call can be done during lunch time. Please understand that there needs to be a limit to the distance we can travel.

AFTER-HOUR CALLS (AFTER 6)

In order to improve our service to you we prefer to work by appointment. We therefore encourage patients to schedule appointments to see their doctor. If your doctor is unavailable or away there is always an alternative doctor available.

Whilst we will endeavour to accommodate patients without an appointment preference will always be given to those who have made one.

Telephone calls are considered necessary at times but only for brief and to the point communication. During a consultation your doctor may need to speak to another doctor or a pharmacy to deal with a pressing problem. Apart from such calls every effort is made to take only one call per consultation.

Your understanding and co-operation is appreciated.
